When Connor and Tess reached out about their engagement photos, they knew one thing for sure—they wanted the mountains. Their story already had deep roots there: Connor had proposed after an epic 19-mile hike, so it only felt right to honor that chapter of their love with a session surrounded by peaks and alpine air.
I spent time scouting for a location that would feel like theirs—not overly crowded, not staged, but something unique and tucked away. The spot we landed on in Vail couldn’t have been more perfect. From the sweeping views to the golden light pouring through the trees, it truly felt like we had stumbled onto a set designed just for them.
Throughout the shoot, Connor and Tess wanted photos that reflected who they are together—authentic, candid, and a little adventurous. And honestly? They made that easy. Their connection was effortless, full of laughter, and the kind of chemistry you don’t need to pose. At one point as they were running together Tess looked around and said, “This feels like a movie.” And she was right—it really did.
There are some sessions that just stick with you, and this one will be forever imprinted on my heart. Between their story, the breathtaking backdrop, and the way they simply are with each other, it all came together in the most unreal way.
